Personal Mail Archiver

A single-user Gmail backup tool.

Personal Mail Archiver is a private command-line application that keeps an incremental local backup of its owner's own Gmail mailbox — messages, labels and attachments — using Google's Gmail API.

How it works:

• It runs on its owner's own private server, not on any hosted service.
• It authenticates to the owner's Google account with OAuth, and only with the scopes the owner explicitly approves on the consent screen.
• Mail is written to a local store on the owner's own hardware (a home NAS).
• It is used by exactly one person — the account owner — and is not offered to, or used by, anyone else.

No analytics, no tracking, and no data leaves the owner's own hardware. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account permissions page.
